Claire M Riordan

Claire McDaniels Riordan, 85, of New Port Richey, FL, passed away peacefully on Sunday, 18 February 2024 with her family by her side.  She is survived by two sons: John and Kevin (Kathy); 3 daughters: Eileen Kelly, Maureen Kelly (Edward), and Tricia Stallings (Donna); 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; 12 nieces and nephews; and many great nieces and nephews.   She was pre-deceased by her husband, Jeremiah Patrick Riordan; her brother James (Libby); her sister, Mary Catherine Estoch (Frank); and her parents, James and Mary Madeline McDaniels.

Claire was born in Jersey City, New Jersey, and attended St. Michael’s High School.  She married the love of her life, the late Jerry and moved to Hazlet, NJ where they raised their family.  She was an active member of Holy Family Catholic Church and School (Union Beach), where she served as President of the Altar & Rosary Society.   Claire was especially proud of the many years she spent working at St. John Vianney High School in Holmdel, NJ.   She had many fond memories of her time there.  She spoke of it, and the people she worked with along the way, right up until the end. Upon retirement, Claire and Jerry settled in New Port Richey, FL where she enjoyed traveling, reading, playing cards, lunches with the ladies, and spending time with her family.

Visitation will be Sunday, 25 February 2024 at Morgan Funeral Home (New Port Richey) from 2:00-4:00 PM.  There will be a funeral mass at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church on Monday, 26 February 2024 at 11:00 AM.  Interment will follow at Florida National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in her name.
