Diane Marie Stephens

Diane Marie Stephens, age 81, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2023.  She was a beloved mother, sister, aunt and friend to all and she will be dearly missed.  

Diane was born in Flint, MI on August 4, 1942, to Nicholas and Helen Baker. She grew up in Flint, MI.  She attended Bronson Methodist School of Nursing in Kalamazoo, MI and became a RN.  She married Rodney Charles Stephens on May 18, 1963. They moved to Bay City, MI where they opened and ran a 7-11 store.  They eventually moved to New Port Richey, FL in 2008.  Diane was very involved on First Baptist Church of New Port Richey where she had many friends.  She enjoyed singing in the church choir, line dancing, concerts and vacationing with her family and extended family.  She loved being with her grandchildren and her great granddaughter.  

Diane is survived by her two daughters, Sharri and husband Jim Cook, Renee and husband Tom Wibirt; grandchildren Meghan (Bourcier) and husband Alex Haines, Sarah (Wibirt) and husband Steven Toerner, Brett Cook and Samantha Wibirt (Xander Cummings); and great granddaughter Sophia Toerner.  Also surviving are her three sisters, Carole Davis, Linda and husband Michael Thompson and Kathleen and husband William Comstock; brother-in-law David Stephens, many nieces, nephews and friends.  

Diane will be laid to rest with her late husband, Rodney Stephens, at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Gulfside Hospice of New Port Richey.
