Donald Borland

Donald Ralph Borland (Don or Mr. Don), 90 of New Port Richey, Florida died Wednesday, February 12, 2020. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 8320 County Rd 54 in New Port Richey, FL by Fr. Eric Peters. Visitation will be held at Morgan Funeral Home at 6025 Trouble Creek Rd. in New Port Richey on Monday, February 17 from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Don was born in Madison, Wisconsin, November 17, 1929. He Graduated from East High School and went into the Navy shortly after. He married Caryl Mary Schweppe on May 6, 1950. They celebrated 55 happy years of marriage before Caryl died in 2005. Don started his working life as a Western Union delivery boy, followed up as a bowling alley pin setter, and a gold caddie at Maple Bluffs Country Club. The golfing hobby he kept up for 70 years. He chose automotive car repair, owning four shops throughout his career. He was a faithful member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church and Men's Club. Don is survived by a daughter, a son and two grandsons, a sister in-law and many nieces, nephews and close friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Caryl, parents Hardy and Bernice Sloan Borland, brothers Earl and Larry and sister Ellen Butts. The family of Donald R. Borland wishes to thank Trinity Hospital in New Port Richey, Florida and Hernando Pasco Hospice/HPH for their kindness and caring over the past few weeks.
