Every, Dorothea (Dotty), 78, of Holiday passed away April 22, 2021. She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond M. Every, her parents Arthur and Hazel Ahl and sister Arlene Gildersleeve. She is survived by her sons Raymond A. Every (wife Alyse) and Mark M. Every (wife Sheryl), granddaughters Sierra K. Every and Mackenzie M. Every, grandson by marriage Anthony York, great granddaughters Makayla and Isabelle, sister Bernice Burr and many nieces and nephews. Dotty was born and raised in Kingston, NY where she met the love of her life Ray whom she married in May of 1965. They moved to Holiday in 1978 where they continued to raise their 2 sons. Dotty was a member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church. She retired from MetLife Insurance upon the birth of her first granddaughter in 2000. She loved her grandchildren and spent as much time as possible cheering them on whether it was bowling, dance or volunteering during their elementary years at Seven Springs. She truly enjoyed the time she spent as a volunteer and even continued to do so after the girls moved onto middle school. Dotty also enjoyed spending time throughout the years watching her sons bowl even travelling to state and national tournaments. Prior to his death Dotty and Ray loved to travel with one of their most unforgettable trips being an Alaskan cruise. Dotty was always kind and thoughtful to the people around her. She never forgot a birthday or anniversary and always recognized special occasions and events not only for family but all those close to her. Dotty faced many challenges in the last year and fought hard to overcome them. She will be missed by all of us who love her and those whose lives she has touched so dearly. Rest in peace until we meet again. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Sydney has a Sister. A family foundation near and dear to her heart.
Services will be held Saturday, May 1 at 1:00pm Morgan Funeral Home 6025 Trouble Creek Rd., New Port Richey, FL 34653. Her ashes will be laid to immediately following at Meadowlawn Cemetery.
