Eleanor Louise Richter, 96, passed away peacefully in her sleep November 17, 2017 at the Heartland Nursing Home in Zephyrhills, Florida.
A memorial service will be held for her on November 28th at 6:30 in the Morgan Funeral Home located at 6025 Trouble Creek Road, New Port Richey, FL 34653. The family will be present, friends are invited. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Gulfside Hospice for whom she spent many hours in volunteer service and would be a fitting memorial. Born Eleanor Louise Carl from parents Ella May Lane Carl and Hermann Carl in Riverside, California. Eleanor married John Wesley Richter in 1942 who proceeded her in death coincidentally 14 years to the day prior. She was the beloved wife, partner, mother, grandmother, aunt, friend and much more to those who knew her.
She was an entrepreneur along with her partner/husband in many occupations beginning with a dairy farm in Washington State followed by may years in the logging industry to finally a shake and shingle mill in Sandpoint, Idaho from which they retired to enjoy many ears of travel and golf ultimately the last 20 years of which were in Zephyrhills, FL.
Eleanor is survived by three children; John W. Richter and his wife Denise of Tampa, Sandra Jeanne Clodwick of the Villages, Florida, James A. Richter and his wife Pam of Newport, Washington; 8 grandchildren (one grandchild Nathan Richter proceeded her); Tera Bowerman, Tabetha Polly, Kara White, John Davis, Wesley Richter, Lana Grytdal and Ehren Richter; 4 great grandchildren; Monica Grytdal, Rebecca Grytdal, Jasmine Grytdal and Nathanial Polly, two step grandsons, Jeremy Polly and Brandon Polly and one great great granddaughter Brooklyn Polly.
The years left to her after the parting of her dearly beloved husband were spend in much volunteer work for Hospice until she was no longer capable.
A long and full life she lived and after 96 years of meritorious service we give her the utmost honorable discharge.
