George resided in Forestville, CT with his wife and family. He proudly served as a Corporal in the Marine Corp from 1942 to 1944 where he was stationed in the Pacific during WWII. After returning to the states, he graduated from the University of Hartford with a degree in accounting. He worked as a Fafnir Bearing machinist for 30 years until retirement. He served as chairman of the Forestville Memorial Day parade and spent many years coaching the Little League Cubs. He was an active member of the St. Matthew’s parish and school. George participated in the Marine Corp league in both Connecticut and later New Port Richey, Florida as well as the VFW Post 994. He summered at Plainville Campgrounds in Connecticut where he enjoyed cards, Wii bowling and potluck dinners with his neighborhood friends. He was an avid card player and loved to play bridge with his late wife Pat and poker with his Florida group. Everybody loved George who could entertain anyone for days with his stories. George could always be found wearing a Marine cap; “Once a Marine, Always a Marine”. His family would like to extend a special thank you to “my people” at Brookdale of New Port Richey that loved and took such good care of him.
