Geraldine “Jerry” Williams left peacefully to be with the Lord on May 1st, 2020 at the age of, 84. Born in Auburn, Alabama during the winter of 1935. She has had a beautiful opportunity to travel and live in many states until settling in Florida in the 1990’s, where she has resided for the last 30 years for its warm tropical weather.
Jerry was always a tough and God-fearing woman. Fighting decades of diabetes and medical procedures, Jerry’s faith only gained strength as she pushed through. We never would hear her complaining “why her” but accepting the challenges of any adversity to come. Aside from the opinions of medical professionals and their expectations, she was always very eager to prove them wrong. Jerry’s independence and determination will always be a big attribute to her character as a loving friend, mother, and grandmother. These are traits she has passed down through each generation. Being a self-sufficient woman down to her last year, remaining extremely organized and attentive to detail. Obstinate to negotiate her timing with the angels of God during her final hour.
As a professional seamstress in the clothing industry during her early years, she continued and loved to sew and crochet for her family. She also enjoyed being family-centered bringing everyone together whether by person or phone, solving puzzles, the occasional trips to the casino, watching her NBA basketball and Kung Fu flicks. She also would love to listen to old-time Christian music and read her Bible as often as possible. Some of her favorite collectables were bells found across the country and anything that had Tweety bird on it.
She was predeceased by her eldest daughter Sherry. She is survived by brother, Willie and sister, Mary, son’s Alonso and Brian, and youngest daughter and caretaker, Karen. Leaving behind 6 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. We all will forever love and miss you…Until we meet again!
A service celebrating Jerry’s life will be held later this year in New Port Richey, FL.
