Helga Ruth Podsiad

Helga Ruth Podsiad, 89 of New Port Richey, FL passed away on March 29, 2018 at Orchard Ridge Nursing Home. Born in Germany where she lived until she moved to England and Canada before coming to The United States in 1961. Prior to her retirement, she worked at Singer Kearfott, Woodland Park, NJ. She then moved to Florida in 1984 when her husband retired. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Stanislaw, in 1991. While in Florida, she enjoyed knitting and playing cards and going to bingo. Helga is survived by her four loving children, Carmen Vivino and her husband, John (Jack) of Wayne, NJ; Sylvia Innocent and her husband, Anthony of Totowa, NJ; Lydia Gialanella of Williams Township, PA, and Michael Podsiad and his wife, Karen of Plant City, FL. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren: Diane (Brent) Ireland; Lorraine (Brian) Nassan; John (Christine) Vivino; Claudia Innocent; Denise (Scott) Charles; Claire Innocent; Vincent (Lucia) Innocent; Nicholas (Victoria) Gialanella; Alex Gialanella; Megan Podsiad; Kevin Podsiad and Kristin Podsiad. In addition, surviving are 14 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Morgan Funeral Home on Friday, April 6th from 9:00-10:00 a.m. and Mass will be held at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church on Friday, April 6th at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund (JDRF) or St. Jude’s Research Hospital would be appreciated.
