Hilda M Gara

Hilda M. Gara of New Port Richey passed away peacefully Thursday, August 29, 2024, at 8:30 a.m. Hilda was born January 6, 1936, in Chicago, Illinois. She is the youngest of five children including Connie Rutti Dombrowski of Chicago, Illinois and the late Adolph Rutti, late Albert Rutti and late Susan Rutti Dombrowski.

From Hilda’s lovely 2 children, Robin and Jimmy, she has 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren, who will all carry the threads of her generosity, love for animals, and alternative perspectives into the world. She often said, “I want to be a tree in my next life,” and we imagine the seed is already planted, her roots are spreading, and her leaves will whisper and sing to us soon. In deep love and gratitude, we honor the gifts Hilda has and will continue to offer this world.

 Hilda is survived by her children, Robin Gara (Paul) Tanis of Tampa, and James Gara of Brookfield, her loving grandchildren, Nicholas (Courtney) Tanis, Samantha Tanis, Christen (Andrew) Hornung, Jennifer (Steve) Dote, Emily (Christian) Guajardo, Matthew (Caitlyn) Gara and 9 great grandchildren, her partner of 24 years, Sharon Kresh and a multitude of loving pets.
