Jeremiah Patrick Riordan, 83, of New Port Richey, died peacefully on Tuesday, 28 July 2020 with his family at his side. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Claire Riordan; sons John Riordan and Kevin Riordan (Kathy); daughters Eileen Riordan Kelly (Bill), Maureen Riordan Kelly (Ed) and Tricia Riordan (Donna); 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; his brother John Robert Riordan; 12 nieces and nephews; and many great nieces and nephews.
Jerry was born to the late Patrick and Nora Riordan in Jersey City, New Jersey. Upon graduation from St. Michaels High School, he proudly served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps. He married his high school sweetheart, the love of his life, in 1958. A short time later, they moved to Hazlet, New Jersey, where they raised their 5 loving children. He was an active member of Holy Family Catholic Church and School (Union Beach). After retiring from a 40-year career at J. P. Morgan Guaranty Trust Co., Jerry and Claire settled in New Port Richey, Florid,a where he enjoyed spending time at the beach and the pool, reading, playing cards and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Visitation will be Monday, 3 August 2020, at 9:30 AM at Morgan Funeral Home. There will be a funeral mass at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church at 11:00 AM, with interment to follow at Florida National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in his name.
