Jordan Alan Woods of Trinity, Florida passed away on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at 21 years of age. He was riding his motorcycle when an SUV turned in front of him causing his death. Jordan was born on April 20, 1996 in Clearwater, Florida to Alan and Marcella Woods. He lived in Florida until moving to Luxembourg in 2001 where he attended the International School for his kindergarten year. Upon returning from Europe in 2002, Jordan lived in Exton, Pennsylvania where he attended Mary C. Howse Elementary School through 5th grade. In 2005, Jordan moved to Rebuck and subsequently Dalmatia, Pennsylvania where he attended Line Mountain Junior High School through 8th grade. In 2010 he moved to San Ramon, California and attended Dougherty Valley High School through 10th grade. In 2012 he moved to Trinity, Florida where he resided until his death. He graduated from J.W. Mitchell High School in 2014 and subsequently attended Saint Petersburg College and was President of the Student Government.
In May 2016, Jordan began his service in the Navy Reserves and obtained the rank of Intelligence Specialist 3rd Class. During his career he worked for Cracker Barrel Country Store and Restaurant, Sans Pizzeria, Leaning Tower of Pizza, McDonald’s and for Ferman Auto Group as a Service Adviser for the past 18 months. Jordan enjoyed playing baseball, soccer, basketball and football. He also enjoyed fishing. Jordan’s favorite activity was simply spending time with his friends. He was a very caring and compassionate young man, known by all for his giving nature. He enjoyed life, always with a smile and no matter the situation, serious or casual, work or play, his view was it was all fun and even better if it was amongst friends and family.
He is survived by his father Alan, sister Mekeala, half-sister Alana and step-mother Ana, all of Trinity, Florida, mother Marcella Snyder, step-father Greg Snyder, step-brothers Cody and Caleb Snyder and step-sister Chloe Snyder, all of Dalmatia, Pennsylvania, maternal grandparents Charles and Cheri Griffith of Exton, Pennsylvania, Uncle Kevin and Aunt Kris Griffith of Rockton, Illinois, and Uncle Ron Rissell of Coatesville, Pennsylvania, and many cousins. Jordan was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Frank (2000) and Janet Woods (1974) and his Aunt Kimberly Rissell (2009).
Memorial services are being held in Unionville, Pennsylvania on Thursday October 26th, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at Unionville Presbyterian Church followed by full military honors at the Unionville Cemetery and reception to follow. An additional memorial service will be held in New Port Richey, Florida on Monday, October 30th, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church with reception to follow.
