Josephine K. Burnham (“Jay”)
Born April 5, 1921 – Died December 23, 2017 at the age of 96.
Survived by Horace, her loving husband of 73 years, and sons, Roger and David (his wife, Beth) along with grand daughters Katherine and Laura. Jay is also survived by many loving extended family members including nephews, nieces, great-nieces, great-nephews, their spouses and even great-great nephews and nieces.
Pre-deceased by son Gerald.
Jay was a long-time employee of the Tolland Savings Bank (CT), and teacher of Sunday School for many years at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Vernon, CT. She loved to paint with oils and was an excellent seamstress and baker. She enjoyed bowling with her sisters and traveling with her husband and friends. Her favorite times were with family, especially sisters, and friends in CT and in FL. Proud of her Polish heritage, she loved to tell her grand daughters the stories of her parents journey to this country and life on Snipsic Street growing up in Rockville, CT.
Visiting hours will be held at Morgan Funeral Home in New Port Richey on Sunday, January 14 from 2:00-4:00. A memorial service will be held at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in New Port Richey Monday, January 15, at 10:00 a.m.
