Karen Amelia Pina passed away on March 4, 2016 in New Port Richey, Florida. She was born in June of 1969. Karen was the beloved daughter of Charles and Jean Rogers. She was also the beloved mother of Brittany and Mitchell Pina. She is also survived by her brother Steven Rogers and sister, Faith Rogers, nieces, Margaret Aubel and Emma Rogers and nephew, Charles Rogers.
Karen attended Brockport Central High School in New York and graduated in the class of 1987. Karen was a civilian employee of the Rochester Police Department from 2001 to 2014, where she performed various administrative duties, including coordinating the school crosssing guard program.
Karen’s sources of enjoyment included fast cars, fashion, 80’s rock, candy, family, pets, traveling, theme parks, gardening and feeding the wild birds. After Karen moved to Florida, she became a true Floridian, who loved the sunshine and beaches.
Karen passed away at home after a two year illness. Karen faced many obstacles, but her heart was set on her children of whom she was so proud of.
A final positive note: Karen donated her eyes, so now two people can see.
There will be at visitation at Morgan Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, March 11th, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. to noon, with a service at noon and burial to follow at East Elfers Cemetery.
