Mary Louise Lackos, 91, passed away on October 3rd, 2021. She was born December 6, 1929 in McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania as Mary Louise Magliocca, but known to all as Dolly, to parents Simieone and Josephine. She was one of 10 children.
In the 40s, she moved to the Tampa Bay area and remained a lifelong resident. She graduated from Hillsborough High School in 1947 and went on to become a Secretary/Office Manager for Philco-Ford and Allied Fence for many years. Later in her life, she enjoyed caring for children, many of whom she loved as her own family.
She was known for her generosity. When you were with her, you had to either eat something, drink
Something, or take something. When you visited, if she wasn’t prepared, she’d offer you whatever she had on
hand and sometimes it made for very interesting gifts... olives, crackers, or coupons. But you HAD to leave
with something.
She also had a love of fashion and a great sense of style- always known for her taste in clothes. Everything she wore had to match down to every accessory, purses, jewelry, and shoes- she was even still wearing heels well into her 80’s.
In 1996, she dedicated her life as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses- her Faith was very important to her. Up until her death she zealously shared the good news of God’s kingdom with everyone she met.
“Dolly” is survived by her brother, Sam Magliocca; Children, Alan and Charmaine Lanier; Grandchildren,
Dion and Suzanne Rocha, Kevin and Sylena Thomas and Jon and Alexandria Carralero
and many Nephews and Nieces.
She will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
