Patricia Ann Lonigan

Patricia Ann Lonigan age 92 of Winter Haven Florida, formerly a retiree in New Port Richey Florida and originally from New York, passed peacefully on May 8, 2023, with family at her bedside. Pat was the beloved wife of Lawrence Thomas Lonigan whom proceeded her in death. Both Pat and Larry were loving parents to 5 children. Pat is survived by her daughters Marianne Lehman, Kathleen (Kate) Zaverton, Tara Lonigan and Patricia (Patti) Delgado (spouse Paul) as well as her son Lawrence Thomas Lonigan Jr. (spouse Eileen). She was the proud Grandmom to 14 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild with another great grandchild due to arrive this fall.

Before retirement to Florida, Pat worked in various capacities as a registered nurse. Her last position was as a school nurse at Newfield High School in Selden, New York where she was beloved (known for her tea and sympathy) and a role model for many students following her into the nursing profession; a profession that gave her the ability to help others while still being present to her family.

Patricia believed in God and lived those beliefs daily. Both Pat and her husband Larry spent many years giving back to their community through St Vincent DePaul and many church activities. Having overcome alcoholism, Pat was a sponsor for 12 step members well into her late 80’s and she celebrated 38 years of sobriety this past January. Being open and honest with her earlier struggles enabled Pat to educate her children and grandchildren as well as many others that there is hope and recovery.

The gates of heaven and the arms of our Lord welcomed you, good and faithful servant. Love is eternal and although we grieve the loss of your light and guidance, we believe you are with us wherever we are. We will carry you in our hearts forever and always.

Family, friends, friends of family are invited to gather at a celebration of Patricia’s life and Mass of the Resurrection on Thursday August 3, 2023, at 10:30 AM.
