On Wednesday, January 7, 2015, Ralph G. Freda lost his battle with cancer, passing away at his home in New Port Richey, Florida at the age of 69. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Francis Freda and sister Marie Saporito. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Kathleen D. Freda, his daughter Marissa Freda Brown, and his brother Zach Freda. He also leaves behind three grandchildren, Anthony, Breanna, and Joseph, seven nieces, and three nephews.
Born in Hoboken New Jersey on June 28, 1945, Ralph obtained an engineering degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University and worked for a number of reputable companies over the years, eventually resulting in him moving to Birmingham, Alabama in 1993 where he lived before eventually moving to his dream house in Florida.
He was an avid builder of model boats and loved creating new worlds with his Lionel Trains. He loved to fish and some of his favorite times were on his boat. He traveled often with his wife, spending time in locations such as Barbados, Italy, and Las Vegas. One of his favorite vacation spots was Walt Disney World, which he visited frequently with his wife and daughter and had the opportunity to revisit later in life with his grandchildren.
He was loved by all who met him and touched many of lives over his 69 years on this earth. He will forever be loved and never be forgotten. In lieu of sending flowers, please make a donation to the Ralph Freda memorial fund.
