Richard L. Bowerman, Sr.

Richard Bowerman, Sr., 82, of Auburn, IN, passed away on October 2, 2023.

Richard was born on July 17, 1941, in Hudson, IN, to Loyal and Marie Bowerman.  He graduated from Auburn High School and attended the Chicago Institute of Art.

Growing up Richard worked at his parent's meat market in Auburn.  After moving his family to Florida, he worked at Family Mart and Albertsons as a butcher.  Years later, Richard moved back to his hometown of Auburn, and finished his career at NuCor.

Richard's true love was riding motorcycles.  If his Gold Wing motorcycles could talk, they would tell you about the many memories made with over the 300,000+ miles he put on them.  He enjoyed riding through the mountains with friends and just getting on his bike for a spur of the moment vacation.

One of his pastimes was watching wrestling many nights a week.  Richard enjoyed camping, movies, music, and spending time with his family.

Richard is survived by his wife, Diane Bowerman; sister, Sharon Smith; son Richard Bowerman, Jr.; son Scott Bowerman (Laura); daughter Amy McDowell (Clint-deceased); and grandchildren, Tyler Bowerman, Sabrina Bowerman, and Shaylee McDowell.
