Mike was a loving husband and father. His family meant the world to him and the love and support of his family was something he treasured. Most prized possession was his Clem Irene (affectionately called a “Saint” by their friends), she was his greatest cheerleader, always by his side through thick and thin. They were like peas and carrots always together, wherever he was she wasn’t far. Mike’s pride and joy was his granddaughter Alexa. He enjoyed babysitting her when she was young & spending hours with her watching movies & chaperoning for school field trips. Mike’s greatest joy was watching his granddaughter go from a tiny baby into a beautiful, talented young lady.
Michael was unique unto himself....and all who knew him always had a story about him that would get a laugh or reaction of disbelief it happened.
Mike enjoyed many careers over the years in various sales related businesses from recreational vehicles of snowmobiles, boats, jet skis, trucks, cars, motorcycles and real estate.
He also enjoyed many exciting hobbies from snowmobile racing, boat racing, and especially stockcar racing, including figure 8 courses where he held several titles.
He was a member in the Service Club of Sertoma, both in Canada, and West Pasco Sertoma serving in New Port Richey as Sergeant-of-Arms, and other officer duties including the Chairing of the Club’s annual Speech and Hearing Drive to help put on the Annual Beef Barbecue that “We Cook So Kids Can Hear". He was a member of the Gulf Side Corvette Club in New Port Richey & Active Officer Member in the Harley Owner’s Group (HOG) in New Port Richey Florida, Road Captain for many years and known affectionately for 'His Short Lunch Rides to Tarpon' for food & fun.
Mike was also known for his soft spot to support the animal rescue through his good friends, Cindy and Jeff Ballard, and to support Julie and Frank Crawford in their musical entertainment ‘gigs’ where he could request special songs from Julie. He was looking forward to cheering on his great- nephew, Connor, son of his niece, Joy and husband Leon, in his upcoming high school football season.
