Edwin Govoni

July 14, 1952 — November 28, 2021

Edwin Richard Govoni 1952-2021 (Eddie/Dad) The Man - The Myth - The Legend Edwin was born in Plymouth, Massachusetts July 14th 1952, brought up in Duxbury and moved to Florida in 1974 He leaves behind his loving Wife Mary L Govoni, Son Edwin C Govoni, Daughter Angela L Govoni-Antonic and Grandchildren. Edwin and Mary were sweethearts from the very beginning and built an incredible life together. They are nothing short of perfection and stuck by each other’s sides through it all. They are soulmates and the most wonderful couple/parents anyone could ever ask for. Edwin was and will always be the most devoted, loving Husband, caring Father and incredible Pop-Pop that anyone could ever have. He always provided for his family, he was the first to lend a helping hand and he always stuck by their side no matter what. He had a deep caring and loving heart for all animals in need. He took in many strays, provided food, shelter and much love. He enjoyed going to classic car shows, building models, playing with slot cars, racing RC cars, watching classic movies and was a collector of anything unusual and unique. Edwin worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator for many years beginning with Des Little & Sons of New Port Richey, Florida. He was also a part time cook and sous-chef at Holiday Inn, Magnolia Golf Club and Red Lobster where he was one of the first to make the famous cheddar biscuits. He excelled in his trade whether it was in the seat of CAT or in the kitchen where he created some of the best food anyone could ever enjoy. Edwin was loved by many and always will be. There are not enough words to describe how good of a Husband, Father or Friend this man was. He truly was and will always be the best. He will live on through his family as we will always hold him near and dear to our hearts. Until we see you again, love always your family.
